Install MS/Windows

For MS/Windows on a machine directly connected to the Internet:

1. Download and install GTK+ (13MB) from:
   http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gladewin32/gtk-dev-2.12.9-win32-2.exe
2. Download and install GGobi (807KB) from:
   http://www.ggobi.org/downloads/ggobi-2.1.8.exe
3. Download and install R (31MB) from:
   http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/R-2.7.2-win32.exe
4. Install Rattle by opening the R Desktop icon and:
   
   

   > install.packages("rattle", dependencies=TRUE)
   

   
   
5. Optional: Install the latest version of Rattle:
   
   

   > install.packages("rattle", repos="http://rattle.togaware.com")
   

   
   
6. Start up Rattle by opening the R Desktop icon and:
   
   

   > library(rattle)
   > rattle()
   

   
   
7. Optional: You may like to install Emacs Speaks S, a comprehensive environment for writing R code on MS/Windows, available from:
   http://vgoulet.act.ulaval.ca/pub/emacs/emacs-22.2-modified-2.exe
   
8. Optional: You may like to install Tinn-R - a more traditional GIU type IDE for R:
   http://optusnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/tinn-r/Tinn-R_1.19.4.7_setup.exe
