Thanks to Frédéric Stemmelin for an update (22 Nov 2008) on R1.
The installation file downloaded from the Oracle site is now
just one big zip file (linux_11gR1_database_1013.zip) and not 3
separate files.
There is no more Disk1 folder available, but just a database
folder instead for the installer, same name (runInstaller).
There are no more options in root.sh to change, like nogroup or
nobody, in fact there is no more /extjob anywhere in the two script
files (/u01/app/oraInventory/orainstRoot.sh and
/u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/root.sh)
When starting the 2 scripts, it asks only where the local bin
directory with the prompt [/usr/local/bin]. There is no longer a 600
seconds wait and so on nor init.cssd stuff anywhere (nothing in
/etc/init.d/rc ... or /etc/inittab ...)
the prereq.xml file is now in
/tmp/database/stage/prereq/db/db_prereq.xml and needs to be changed
regarding GLIBC Error message as usual.
