Submit a Pull Request

20190611 After forking a repository, cloning it locally, and making changes to the repository, a pull request can be submitted to have the changes considered for inclusion in the original repositories code base.

To begin, fetch the upstream master and merge that with your repository's master branch. The checkout here simply ensures the master branch is active:

$ git fetch upstream
$ git checkout master
$ git merge upstream/master

If there were any new commits then rebase to the development branch:

$ git checkout newfeature
$ git rebase master

Then rebase all commits on the development branch:

$ git checkout
$ git rebase -i master

On the github interface change to the branch to be merged and click on Pull Request.
