18.13 Find Files Recently Modified

Suppose you know that you have created a screenshot that generated a png file recently but can’t remember where it is put.

The following find command will do a search (-name) for matching files modified in the last 24 hours (-mtime). For each file found, display the output of the ls command using a long ISO data format as specified with --time-style=``long-iso.

$ find . -name '*.png' -mtime -1 \
  -exec ls -l --time-style=long-iso {} \;
