5.12 Trash

The standard desktop file managers and the command line command trash will move deleted files to the trash can rather than actually delete the files. The trash can is a directory often found as  /.local/share/Trash. This allows the recovery of accidentally deleted files, at least until the trash can is emptied, perhaps using the command -, trash, empty.
