32.2 SSH Server

The first thing is to set the decloud server up as the central secure shell (ssh) server for the home, and for connection to any computer in the home from outside the home.

Install openssh-server. Then configure your firewall (e.g., your ADSL modem) to direct connections from the Internet to port 22 (used by ssh) to the decloud server (e.g., 10.0.0.10).

Install fail2ban to watch for repeated attempts to connect to through ssh, and block any IP address that has repeated attempts (after 6 attempts) for a period of time.
