71.18 Printer Debugging cups-browsed

20230718

On one Ubuntu computer (olive) but not another similarly configured Ubuntu computer (yoga) I was getting in /var/log/cups/error_log:

E [18/Jul/2023:18:55:55 +1000] [Job 196] No destination host name supplied by cups-browsed for printer \"EPSON_ET_1810_Series@EPSON8786A5.local\", is cups-browsed running?
W [18/Jul/2023:18:55:55 +1000] [Job 196] Backend returned status 4 (stop printer)

I could not work out what the problem was with CUPS. Hunting around I found a suggestion:

driverless

This returned:

ipps://EPSON%20ET-1810%20Series._ipps._tcp.local/

So manually create the print queue:

lpadmin -p epson -v "ipps://EPSON%20ET-1810%20Series._ipps._tcp.local/" -E -m everywhere

giving the new print queue the name epson.
